Chairman of the Board
Houston Staton is the visionary founder of WirelessWERX. He has provided financial and management guidance to the company since its inception. Houston has extensive business interests in Latin America and has held a variety of executive positions at Coca-Cola. He has served as a Member of the Board of Pan American Beverages Inc.; a multi-billion dollar corporation that was the largest independent Coca-Cola bottler in the world until it was acquired by Coca-Cola Femsa. Houston holds a degree in Engineering Economic Systems from Georgia Tech and M.S. in Corporate Finance from Georgia State.
Chief Technology Officer
Jim is one of the founding members of WirelessWERX and has served as Chief Technology Officer since 1999. As CTO Jim is responsible for managing the design, development and delivery of the enterprise based location based services network of WirelessWERX. He manages the engineering group, relationships with carriers, OEMs and contract manufacturers, and strategic product planning and development. Over the years Jim has earned several patents in the field of telematics. Prior to the founding of WirelessWERX, Jim provided Operations Support for the ACES Group. These activities included System Engineering support for Boeing, Rockwell International, Litton, Intraspace and Space Applications, Inc. on programs that included Titan-IV booster qualifications. Jim studied engineering and computer science at Fullerton College in Southern California.
Partner, Forrestal Capital
Annette Franqui is one of the founding partners of Forrestal Capital, a business and financial advisor. Prior to co-founding Forrestal Capital, Ms. Franqui was the Chief Financial Officer for Panamco, from April 2001 until its sale. Ms. Franqui has 22 years’ experience in the financial industry, initiating her career in 1986 in the Latin America Mergers and Acquisitions department of JP Morgan. In 1989, Ms. Franqui joined Goldman Sachs’ Corporate Finance department in London and became one of the founding members of the Spanish investment banking team. In 1994, Ms. Franqui re-joined JP Morgan in New York as the senior Latin American Food and Beverage Equity Analyst. She was an Institutional Investor ranked analyst in this sector in 1996, 1997 and 1998. In 1998, Ms. Franqui was named Managing Director and Head of the Latin America Research Department at J.P. Morgan, acquiring responsibility for the sales and trading areas the following year. JP Morgan’s Latin America equities group was consistently ranked as one of the top three in the industry. Ms. Franqui holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She is also a CFA charterholder. Ms. Franqui is a Board Member of Arcos Dorados, BVI. Arcos Dorados is the Direct Licensee (“DL”) of Mc Donald’s Corporation operating with 19 countries throughout Latin America.
Partner, Forrestal Capital
Carlos Hernandez-Artigas is one of the founding partners of Forrestal Capital. For ten years he served as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Miami, Florida based Panamerican Beverages, Inc. (“Panamco”). Panamco was sold in May 2003 to Coca-Cola Femsa in a transaction valued at $3.6 billion. Panamco was a NYSE listed company and the largest Coca-Cola bottler outside the U.S. with operations in Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama. His expertise includes general corporate and securities law and transactional work including the participation in joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, lending and other financing transactions, distribution arrangements, negotiating and contracting with governmental entities, and transactions involving the transfer of intellectual property. He also manages and coordinates with local counsel, legal advice relative to tax and estate planning for wealthy individuals. Mr. Hernandez-Artigas sits on the Board of Directors of Arcos Dorados, BVI. Arcos Dorados is the Direct Licensee (“DL”) of Mc Donald’s Corporation operating with 19 countries throughout Latin America and he is an active advisor of many operating companies in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. Mr. Hernandez-Artigas graduated from Universidad Panamericana, Escuela de Derecho (“JD” equivalent in1987) and University of Texas at Austin, School of Law (“MCJ” in 1988). He received a Master of Business Administration from IPADE in Mexico City (1996).
